In its effort to share its vast knowledge on a variety of issues pertaining the energy sector, HAEE launches a set of short seminars addressed to professionals in the energy industry who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills and take their career to the next level by further developing their expertise.
HAEE Seminars are short, one-day seminars targeted on specific energy economics subject matters. The Seminars are taking place at HAEE head office in Athens and are aimed at offering insight on key-issues of the energy market, helping professionals understand developments and new trends, as well as equip them with the skills to successfully address current and future challenges and spot opportunities.

What it is about:
"Managing the Energy Transition" Seminar starts with an overview of the drivers of the ongoing energy transition, provides an introduction to some of the conceptual frameworks in the Energy Transition. Based on the evidence so far of the 4-Ds in Energy Transition - Democratisation, Decarbonisation, Decentralisation and Digitisation in Energy, the course provides the essential tool kit for practicing managers in energy companies to respond to the policy and regulatory changes underway. The objective of the course, through practical case examples is to demonstrate that managing the energy transition process is not easy, involves high stakes policy level negotiations but can also offer opportunities along the way for companies to adapt their business models to shape/manage the outcomes from the energy transition process and yet remain fit for the future.

HAEE's Seminar on the Geopolitics of Energy in South Eastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean will offer participants an in-depth review of the energy policies of the region’s leading countries and the way they interact with the respective strategies of the US, the EU, Russia and China. The Seminar will analyze the interaction between governments and major industry players focusing on the oil and natural gas sectors.

What it is about:
HAEE’s introduction to the “Competitive Electricity Markets” Seminar, provides a comprehensive overview of the main principles and concepts related to the liberalization of the power markets, the basic models of market design, how power sector is restructured and regulated under competition, and how electricity markets are organized. There is emphasis on the details of the “Target Model” for the European Internal Electricity Market, the role of Market Coupling, the fundamentals of Bilateral Transactions and Power Exchanges for trading, as well as the products traded and the trading strategies. The core objective is to understand the most important features of the European competitive power markets, the drivers for the price determination and risk management.
